Folklore Museum of Skopelos

The Folklore Museum of Skopelos is housed in "Nikolaidis Mansion" and the exhibition includes traditional furniture and household items, handmade works and traditional local costumes.

Vakratsa Mansion

In the center of Skopelos, there is Vakratsa Mansion. Inside the mansion, you can see relics and personal belongings of Vakratsa family. The mansion, which has been donated to the Municipality of Skopelos, remains unchanged over time, taking the visitor back to the 19th century atmosphere of the island.

Castle of Skopelos

At the top of the hill above the town of Skopelos, you will see the remains of the ancient wall that surrounded the citadel of ancient Peparethos, as well as parts of what was added in Byzantine and Venetian times. The view from the castle is impressive.

Episkopi

In the area of Episkopi you will find the Venetian fort of 16th to 17th century. The stone wall with small windows and battlements surrounds a small church, built on the ruins of a large three-aisled basilica church. In some places you can see carved animal figures.

Asklepion of Ancient Peparethos

The Asklepion of Ancient Peparethos (4th century. B.C.) is one of the oldest monuments of its kind in Greece. Archaeological excavations have revealed a portico of the classic years with excellent masonry and marble statues. In the area there is an exhibition space with the findings of the excavation.

Ai Giannis at Kastri

This small chapel is located on the top of a steep cliff, which rises 100 meters from the sea. There are about 200 steps to climb to get to the chapel but the spectacular view of the sea will reward you. The famous wedding scene of Mama Mia! film was filmed here.
