Kleftiko

This is an impressive complex of volcanic rocks and it is definitely one of the most famous sights of the island. The unique geological formations and the sparkling blue water of the sea, create a magical landscape which is ideal for swimming and exploring. A legend says that the caves of Kleftiko used to be the pirates’ hideout where they anchored their ships after long journeys. You can reach Kleftiko by tourist boat.

Klima

This is a traditional fishing village with very few inhabitants and multi-coloured two-storeyed houses in the natural concavities of the rocks. The family lived on the first floor while on the ground floor, known as "syrmata", the fishermen kept their boats. Nowadays, the majority of "syrmata" are for rent.

Hot Springs

Due to its volcanic activity and post-volcanic hydrothermal activity, Milos has many hot springs which are known since antiquity for their healing properties. The thermal baths of Milos were known even to Hippocrates who talks about them in his book "Epidemics." The temperature and composition of the water varies depending on the hot spring. Achivadolimni Beach

This is the island's biggest beach with white sand and shallow waters. On the beach you will find an organized camping area. Achivadolimni (=pond of the clams) took its name from the pond full of clams which is located nearby. The place is divided into two beaches: the first one is more quiet and secluded, while the second is organized (beach bar and restaurants) and more lively. This beach is ideal for the lovers of surf and kite-surf.

Sykia Cave

This is a cave of outstanding natural beauty which is accessible only by sea. It is open on the top so the emerald waters sparkle beautifully under the warm summer sun.

Tsigkrado Beach

This is a beach with towering cliffs, white sand and emerald waters. The beach is not organized, but you can buy the essentials from Firiplaka Beach which is nearby.

Firiplaka Beach

This is a big and organized beach with volcanic cliffs, white sand, gray and white pebbles, turquoise waters, a beach bar and sun loungers with umbrellas. If you want to avoid the crowd, you can walk past Firiplaka Beach and arrive at two secluded beaches where you can enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the place.

Papafragas Cave

The Cave of Papafragas (next to the ruins of the ancient city of Phylakopi) is a deep sea cave with turquoise waters and greyish rocks. The beach is relatively small and it is surrounded by big, light-colored rocks. In Byzantine times, it used to be a hideout of pirates. The beach takes its name from last Frank Pope who used this place to protect his boat.
