Mount Elikonas

This is a mountain of Boeotia with an altitude of 1747 m. The springs of Erkyna River (which crosses Livadia) and Kifissos (which crosses Boeotia and flows into Lake Yliki) can be found here. The higher parts of the mountain are covered with firs and oak trees, and according to mythology, the Muses had their home here.

Mount Parnassos

This is the most famous winter destination due to its short distance from Athens, Lamia and Patras. Liakoura is Mount Parnassos’ highest peak at an altitude of 2.459 m. and attracts many visitors all year round. Park of Kria

Erkyna river comes from the southern part of Livadia and crosses the city center. The region of the sources of the river, known as Kria (=cold in Greek), is a park located at the exit of the gorge and is famous for its outstanding natural beauty. In the gorge there is an open theater with good acoustics and a cobblestoned path for hiking.

Arachova

Arachova is built on a slope of Mount Parnassus, which results in a ravine at the bottom of which flows Plistos river. The average altitude of the village is 960 meters. It is just a few hours from Athens and there you will find one of the best ski centers in Greece. Although Arachova is a very popular resort of winter activities, it is also the ideal destination for a cool summer vacation away from the crowds. At about 25 km there are the beautiful beaches of Antikyra, Itea and Galaxidi.

Livadia

Livadia is built on the foot of Mount Elikonas, just 140 km. from Athens. Erkyna river crosses through the town endowing it with a magical atmosphere although the entrance to the city does not prepare the visitor for the beauty hidden in every corner of this place. In the picturesque square of Kria, tall trees and lush vegetation create a pleasant, restful shade for visitors, while hiking along the river is a nice and relaxing experience.

Sarandi Beach

This beach in the shadow of Mount Elikonas is famous for its crystal waters, traditional taverns with fresh fish and nightlife. It can also provide peace and quiet if you want to relax and enjoy moments of tranquility. The beach is about an hour from Athens which makes it ideal for those who want a fast trip to a beautiful place.

Agios Vasilios

This is a small and charming village built right outside a valley. You can access it through Kaparelli. It is comprised by 2-3 taverns and some rooms to let. Most houses belong to vacationers. There are also only two beaches, both of which are sandy. One of them is at the right side of the village and it has plenty of tamarisks and the other one is on the left side and is less crowded as you need to walk 10 min on foot to get there.
