Hiking Trails of Sikinos

If you want to go hiking on Serifos, you will be fascinated by the landscape: remains of ancient villages, remote beaches, inaccessible caves, trails that go all the way to the edge of the cliffs, passages in small gorges, Byzantine churches in the countryside and flora and fauna protected by Natura 2000.

The priority of the Community of Sikinos is the protection of the natural environment of the island and maintenance of the hiking trails. Some suggestions are:

Castle – Alopronoia: The old path that connects the main town with Alopronoia.

Ayios Georgios Beach

This is a beach with thick sand, small pebbles, tamarisk trees, a tavern and a small dock. It is a popular place because of the new road that was opened there. The islet you can see in the sea is called Avolada.

Alopronoia

This is the most crowded beach of Sikinos and it is near the harbor. It is a big, sandy beach with crystal clear waters, tamarisk trees, umbrellas and benches. Here you will also find various restaurants, cafes and rooms to let.

Santorineika Beach

This beach takes its name by the fishing boats of Santorini that used to dock here in order to be loaded with agricultural products and construction materials. Here you will find two small bays with sand, pebbles and turquoise waters.
