Municipal Folk Art Museum of Limassol

This is a beautifully preserved old house which houses a very interesting collection of Cypriot folk art of the last two centuries. The exhibits include national costumes, carpets, embroidery, wooden chests, waistcoats, men's jackets, necklaces, a variety of light clothes, town costumes, rural tools etc. The museum was established in 1985. More than 500 exhibits are displayed in its six rooms. The museum was awarded the Europa Nostra Award in 1989.

Marine Museum "Thalassa"

The Marine Museum "Thalassa" (meaning “sea”) is located in Ayia Napa and is housed in a modern building. Here you can learn all about the marine heritage of Cyprus from prehistoric times until today.

One of the most important exhibits is a replica (in actual size) of a Greek merchant ship of the 4th century which sank off the coast of Kyrenia.

Kallinikeio Municipal Museum of Athienou

This Municipal Museum is housed in the Town Hall. It is a modern museum with collections from the Late Bronze Age (1600-1050 BC) until today. It was named after monk Kallinikos Stavrovouniotis, who was an excellent painter and benefactor of the museum.

The findings show the lifestyle and worship habits of the people from the Late Bronze Age (1600-1050 BC) to the Hellenistic period (310-30 BC).

Cyprus Museum of Natural History

The Cyprus Museum of Natural History is located on the outskirts of Nicosia and was founded by the "Charity, Scientific and Cultural Institution of Fotos Fotiadis ". It is the largest museum of its kind in Cyprus. Among the 2,500 exhibits, you will see stuffed mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and insects as well as rocks, minerals, semiprecious stones, shells and fossils.

Gorge of Avakas

This gorge is a masterpiece of nature and is located in Akamas peninsula, northwest of Paphos. It is a paradise for hikers and for those who would like to learn more about the local flora and fauna. Here you will see the endangered Centauria Akamantis, an endemic plant found only here. The gorge is 30 meters tall and fairly difficult to cross. Parts of the route are slippery and involve climbing through rocks and stones so it is advisable to wear sturdy shoes. You will also need to bring plenty of drinking water and you should always travel with company.

Akamas National Park

The peninsula takes its name from the mythological hero Akamas, son of Theseus, who came to the area after the Trojan war. The peninsula of Akamas is a unique area, both in terms of geology/ physiography and in terms of flora and fauna.

Achna Grove

This grove is located 25 km northwest of Larnaca. It is an autumn and spring stopover for migratory birds such as the ibis, the multicolored Alcyone and flamingos. The dam in the area is a shelter for a variety of fish such as crayfish, carp and sedges. It was built in 1987 and it has a capacity of 6.8 million cubic meters. On the far side of the dam, there is a picnic area called Lakeside Park.

Krasochoria

The northern sunny slopes of Troodos mountains above Limassol are known as Krasochoria because they are famous for their vineyards, wine and charming hilly villages. In Krasochoria the traditional ways of viticulture and wine production are kept alive till nowadays and wine making is the main occupation of the majority of the inhabitants. The well-known red wine of Cyprus is produced here. There are several small wineries that accept visitors for a tour so you can visit them and taste the local wines.

Konnos Bay

Konnos Bay is located four kilometers east of Agia Napa on the road between Cavo Greco and Protaras. This sandy beach, which is protected from the winds, is the border between Agia Napa and Protaras. It is 200 meters long and 35 meters wide and it is one of the most picturesque beaches of the island.
