Monastery of the Assumption at Giromeri

This is one of the most important monastic centers in Epirus which was founded in the early 14th century (1310 to 1320), by Saint Neilos Erihiotis. At a certain point, it functioned as a Secret School and Seminary. The Katholikon was built in the 14th century and was renovated in the 16th century (1568). The walls are decorated with Byzantine frescoes of the 16th and 17th century folklore. The temple was made in 1824.

Monastery of St. George Kamitsiani

The year of the foundation of the monastery is unknown. It was renovated in the 18th century (1758-1773) by monk Paisios and we do not know why and when and it was dedicated to Saint George. There was a great library in the monastery but only the Katholikon has been saved till nowadays.

It is 32 km. far from Filiates.

Monastery Agios Minas at Kokkinolithari

The Monastery is located in the village of Kokkinolithari and it is one of the most beautiful attractions and the largest pilgrimage of the prefecture of Thesprotia. It has a long history which is intertwined with a large number of legends and traditions. It belongs to Giromeri Monastery since 1667.

The monastery of Agios Minas is celebrated on November 11th and is open for visit all year round.

Straits of Acheron

The area is surrounded by mountains and is characterized by rich vegetation and the rushing waters of the river.

In several parts of the river, where the flow of water is slow, you can see the formation of small ponds, ideal habitats for amphibians and fish. Other than that, the waters flow vigorously through high cliffs (some of them more than 100 meters high), while at other points the water flow is smaller, especially during the summer months.

Mega Ntrafi Beach

This is a small quiet beach, with clear blue waters, white pebbles and sand. It is divided into two parts by a rocky hill.
It belongs to the Community Perdika, just10 km far from the village of Perdika.

Agia Paraskevi Beach

This is a picturesque and peaceful beach with sand and pebbles, clean and slightly deep waters. There are olive trees on the back of the beach and in front of the green islet of Agia Paraskevi. You can swim to the island. It has a café - bar.

It belongs to the Community of Perdika, just 9 km far from the village of Perdika.

Pisina Beach

This is a beautiful beach with white sand and pebbles, deep blue waters and lush vegetation. It is a serene and idyllic scenery.
It belongs to the Municipality of Sivota and is located on the islands of Sivota, in particular Mavronomos island. The beach is accessible by boat only.
