Bridge of Arta

This is the most important Greek bridge known for its unique architecture. It is also well-known in Greece, the Balkans and other countries because of the legend of the master builder.

The history of the bridge starts even before the Roman times, perhaps back in the era of King Pyrrhus of Epirus.

The bridge of Arta has been repaired many times and additions have been made. The last one was in 1612. Many folklore studies have been published and theatrical plays and operas have been produced based on the legend of the bridge.
