Hot Springs

Methana is known for its hot springs. Most spas are located in the area of St. Nicholas. The thermal waters have healing properties due to the volcanic subsoil of the island. The first spa of Methana was founded in 1906.

The sulfur and chloro sodium sources in Methana contain valuable minerals. The healing properties of the thermal waters help in treating diseases such as disc disease, respiratory diseases, chronic bronchitis, gynecological diseases, skin diseases, rheumatism, spondylitis, arthrosis and similar diseases.

Agkistri Sights

Agioi Anargyroi

This is a white church with a blue dome at Skala. It is celebrated on July 1st.

 

Zoodochos Pigi

This is the Cathedral of the island. It is located at Megalochori and it is definitely worth a visit in order to see the remarkable frescoes in it. It is celebrated on the Friday before Easter.

Lakka

Lakka Beach extends on the west side of the island. It is one of the largest beaches. It is easily accessible from the road that leads to the wind farm (the distance from the village is about 3 km). At 500 meters from the beach you can see the islets of "Nisopoula”. The biggest one is St. Nikolaki on which you will also find the homonymous church.

Beaches of Antipsara

Antipsara have several beaches, sandy or pebbly, with crystal clear turquoise waters. You can reach them by boat or private yacht. Be sure to bring along the necessary and keep in mind that there are no natural shadows there.
